The Nebraska basketball team got good news on Thursday when Dachon Burke committed. Now they’re hoping to land a big man for the middle.

The Nebraska basketball team landed one player that will be eligible to play in the 2019 season on Thursday. Now the team is hoping they can get a big man who would be eligible to play in the 2018 season.

The Dachon Burke announcement was certainly big news for the future of the Cornhusker program. The downside of course, is that he won’t be able to team up with Isaiah Roby, James Palmer or Isaac Copeland.

At least Burke who visited Lincoln this week, probably won’t be playing with Roby. The Robert Morris transfer will have to sit out a season.

Another recruit who recently moved from the 2019 to the 2018 class was also in town this week. Francisco Caffaro a 7-foot center from Argentina just finished up his trip to the Huskers and will now go on a few other official visits.

Rivals reports that Cafarro is going to be visiting Georgia Tech and St. Marys before he makes his decision. It seems as though those in the know feel like the Huskers have a pretty good shot.

While Nebrasketball could always use another big man in the middle, it’s important to note that while Caffaro would be eligible to play right away, he might need a year to bulk up a bit.

A month away from his 18th birthday, he’s a very slim seven feet. Having said that, he’s a great pure scorer who might not be able to jam up the middle but would at least be a tall body who could get in the way of shots.

The addition of Burke and being on the radar for Cafarro are both big for what Tim Miles is trying to do for the Nebraska basketball program. They’ve taken some hits this spring, but a reloading of sorts is underway.
