Now that the recruiting cycle is in a dead period, it’s time for one of the Nebraska football team’s top targets to begin “the fun” part.

2027 quarterback prospect Trae Taylor has dozens of schools coming after him, including the Cornhuskers. And now that the recruiting has slowed down to a crawl, he’s able to really start thinking about where he wants to spend his college days. That’s despite the fact that he’s actually quite a wait until he’ll be heading to campus.

Taylor has previously made it clear that he’s impressed by what he’s seen from the Nebraska football program. And it’s clear he’s going to mull that over. But he’s also going to mull over the other schools he’s talked to and taken in. It sounds like he might be close to pulling the trigger on some kind of decision, whether it’s just a finalist list or a commitment, or just setting up visits.

“I have a month to take all the information in and talk with my team and narrow this down,” Trae Taylor wrote on social media. “I have been so blessed through this process. And now to take my dad’s advice “LOVE WHO HAS LOVED ME REGARDLESS OF LOGO”

In addition to the Nebraska football team, Taylor has more than 30 scholarship offers from prestigious programs nationwide. Notable among these are Illinois, Wisconsin, Texas A&M University, and Michigan. When this dead period ends next month, what happens will be interesting to watch.
