The Nebraska football team has Dylan Raiola and TJ Lateef this year. They have Dayton Raiola for the 2026 class. And the Huskers are aiming high and shooting for Trae Taylor in the 2027 class.
So far so good for the Huskers, who know they’ll have a fight on their hands to land Taylor. After a recent visit, one of the best quarterbacks in the class had some serious praise for NU”s staff as well as the college itself.
“Absolutely love that whole staff,” Trae Taylor said about Matt Rhule and the rest of the Nebraska football staff. “Their facilities are second to none. The business school is great and of course the fan base is on point. The coaches are coming to visit last week in January and have visited my school more than any other school.”
Nebraska football is in the fight for Trae Taylor
Taylor said all of this when quote tweeting a post talking about his plans to see Lincoln later this spring. And that’s the real foot in the door for the Huskers.
And while they do seem to really have their foot in the door for the prospect who will be a 4-star level recruit for Rivals, the fight is far from over.
Taylor has offers from some of the best programs in the country including Georgia, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Iowa, Indiana, and Purdue, among others.
It’s early on and the race to land Trae Taylor is just beginning. It’s going to be a while before he can officially pull the trigger. There’s going to be plenty of twists and turns.
But Nebraska football has to be considered one of the front runners for the Carmel Catholic quartebrack at this point. Now it’s about closing the deal and showing him that NU is about more than just football.
