The Nebaska football team has made no secret that it would love to lock down 2027 quarterback target Trae Taylor. The problem is that while Taylor has shown quite a bit of interest in the Huskers, he isn’t really tipping his hand.
That is to say that for now, Taylor has given the Cornhuskers a rave review. But there are definitely some other school he’s quite interested in. And now there’s a new contender for the talented signal-caller..
Earlier this week, an old Nebraska football rival joined the fray. The Kansas Jayhawks officially offered Taylor, joining an impressive horde of players who would love to eventually sign the prospect out of Carmel Catholic in Illinois.
Nebraska football sees an old rival join the fray for one of the best QBs in the 2027 class
The Cornhuskers have been pretty damn successful of late when it comes to landing their top quarterback targets. There was of course, Dylan Raiola in the 2024 class, TJ Lateef in the 2025 class and Dayton Raiola in 2026.
However, for now, Nebraska doesn’t have anyone locked down after the younger Raiola. Enter Trae Taylor, who NU will have to work hard to lure away from some of the other big time schools that have come calling.
Taylor has offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Maryland, Oklahoma, Illinois, Ole Miss, Nebraska, Minnesota, Purdue, Kentucky, Indiana, North Carolina among many, many others. Now the Kansas Jayhawks have added their name to that list.
The Nebraska football team knew this was going to be a fight, with the Michigan Wolverine as the slim frontrunner at this point. Now the Huskers have an old rival they’ve got to fight off as well.
