There are few players in the 2025 class that Nebraska football is likely more worried about losing than Christian Jones. It’s not just that the Huskers want to lock down the state. It’s not just that Jones is the best player in the class inside the Cornhusker State. It’s a combination of many things. All of them adding up to what will spark concerns if Matt Rhule isn’t able to keep Jones in house.

The good news here, is that Nebraska football is getting closer to officially making its case. After several unofficial visits to Lincoln over the last few months, Christian Jones has locked in his official visit to the Huskers. Jones will be in town on June 14 and that’s an important date.

NU is going to be hosting a ton of players on June 14 and June 21. It’s never a bad thing to have players like Jones see the excitement in other players that are all taking things in as well.

It’s been hard to read just how sold on Rhule and company Jones is. He’s certainly taking advantage of the many opportunities he’s been given to check out schools all over the country. A case in point is that Jones is planning on taking an official visit to USC on June 7.

Nebraska football gears up for big time fight

Once he’s finished up at Memorial Stadium, he’ll have one more big visit on the agenda. Jones is going to Oklahoma to see what the Sooner have on June 21.

Jones hasn’t said exactly when he’s announcing his commitment. It could be after he wraps up the trio of visits. It could later in the summer.

It is believed that the Omaha Westside 4-star prospect wants this over by the time the season arrives.

For now, Nebraska football seems to be in a good spot. They could be even better off when he comes to Lincoln. It’s still going to be a wild ride to the finish line with powerful programs still in the mix.
