The Nebraska football team officially has its sixth commit of the 2025 class. In a recruitment that moved fairly quickly, Lone Peak, Utah 3-star tight end prospect Bear Tenney pulled the trigger for the Huskers on Thursday morning.

The addition of Tenney to the Huskers’ squad is a major boost, setting the stage for an exciting weekend. The Nebraska football team's victory on Thursday is a testament to the team's progress, with Dylan Raiola's continued influence attracting top prospects.

Tenney confirmed this when he spoke to 247Sports shortly after he officially announced his Husker status.

"Me and Dylan Raiola have been in contact for a while now and he's been pushing for me to join him," Tenney told national recruiting editor Brandon Huffman. "Nebraska is going to be a great fit. I'm going to love him as my QB — who wouldn't want a five-star as their QB?”

Earlier this spring, Tenney named a top five schools of Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Utah, and Washington as well as the Cornhuskers. The 6-foot-4, 245-pound prospect also briefly saw Arizona State for an unofficial visit, but the call of the Big 12 wasn’t enough to sway him. Now he’s set to play his college ball in the Big Ten.

For the Huskers, the commitment of Tenney makes it almost a certainty that they’ll take more than one tight end in this class. Chase Loftin continues to be a top Nebraska football target, and one has to hope that the Utah prospect’s commitment won’t push Loftin elsewhere.

The 4-star Millard South prospect has his choice of schools. On3 currently has the Cornhuskers as the front runners, but Kansas State would love a chance to drill into that lead.

For now, the Nebraska football coaches can take solace in their latest get in Bear Tenney. If nothing else, his commitment blunts the pain of losing out on offensive line prospect Jack Lange. Lange committed to Missouri on Wednesday.
