Dylan Raiola hoping to give Nebraska football a Flipmas present in 5-star OT

The Nebraska football quarterback is trying to reel in one of the best unsigned high school recruits in the country.

The hoopla of Early National Signing Day is fading a bit after the initial rush that was Wednesday. However, that doesn't mean that the Nebraska football team might not have a few more celebrations on the horizon.

In particular, it looks as though one of the Huskers' newest signees is trying to peer recruit one of the best high school offensive linemen stiill on the board to Lincoln. Just how successful Dylan Raiola will be, and how much of a shot the Cornhuskers actually have, is an open question.

While there may not be a realistic shot at landing Jordan Seaton, Raiola is reportedly giving it a shot. And why not? One of the fun side effects of landing a kid among the best recruits in the entire country is that they're well know, and quite popular among their peers.

"Dylan Raiola and Nebraska has been my most recent DM."

And so, with Jordan Seaton not signing with Colorado (who he was committed to) or Maryland, who he reportedly flipped to on Wednesday, or anyone else, there are several schools trying to reel him in. According to Seaton, the Nebraska football team has made some inroads, though it isn't Matt Rhule or his coaches that are said to be leading the charge.

According to Seaton himself, Raiola is the one who is trying the hardest to bring the 5-star offensive tackle to Lincoln. "Dylan Raiola and Nebraska has been my most recent DM," he told On3 late Wednesday night.

The Seaton soap opera has been, strangely enough, somewhat similar to Dylan Raiola's, though his changes of heart have happened in much quicker fashion. Just a few weeks ago the IMG Academy prospect committed to the Colorado Buffaloes and after he did, he sung the praises of its head coach, Deion Sanders.

However, for whatever reason, he didn't sign with the Buffs (who only notched five high school signees on Wednesday) and is now apparently looking around.

It's clear that the Nebraska football team isn't done recruiting just yet. They're likely going to want to try and find someone to replace Chubba Purdy on the roster, who is planning on entering the transfer portal soon.

Perhaps, the Colorado Buffaloes should have done the same thing the Nebraska football team did the last few weeks and assign a personal guard dog coach to Jordan Seaton. I don't expect Dylan Raiola's efforts to bear fruit, it's certainly worth the try.
