Anyone following Nebraska football recruiting for any length of time knows that there are always some painful twists and turns. There are always some high highs and low lows. On Wednesday evening, the Huskers were handed another low.

There was a time when Jack Lange was seen as a sure bet for the Nebraska Football team, a promising offensive line prospect. He had even scheduled an official visit for June, leading many recruiting experts to believe that the Cornhuskers were in the lead. But as is often the case in the competitive world of college football recruiting, things can change in an instant.

On Wednesday, in a move that caught some by surprise, Jack Lange announced his commitment to the Missouri Tigers. This sudden shift in his decision has left many wondering if the Huskers can work a flip before signing day.

The 6-foot-8, 275-pound Lange had a final four of Missouri, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Nebraska but also held offers from some of the most prestigious programs in the country, including Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, and USC. The tackle ranks as the country's 116th-best player and 11th-best offensive tackle, according to 247Sports

Nebraska Football has some work to do to try and flip Jack Lange

If they want to keep pursuing Jack Lange, the Huskers have their work cut out for them. However, the way things have gone up to this point might be a clue that he’s still very gettable.

It’s worth remembering that there was the Notre Dame Fighting Irish before the Nebraska football team was the team to beat. Then the Huskers were the frontrunners. And finally, Missouri took the trophy.

There is still more than seven months until National Signing Day. The first step is getting Jack Lange to still take his official visit to Lincoln in June. If Matt Rhule and company can pull that off, Nebraska Football might have a flip in them.
