Nebraska Cornhuskers great Jordan Burroughs won't be going back to the Olympics. The 35-year-old holder of seven combined Olympic and world titles, was eliminated on the first day of the two-day U.S. Olympic Trials on Friday night.

Burroughs fell 3-0 to Jason Nolf in the freestyle 74kg division at Penn State University. He won his first two matches in the single-elimination tournament begore the defeat.

However, it wasn't his loss that should get headlines this morning. It was what happened as he walked off the mat for what might be the final time in his career.

As he was walking away, one fan took it upon himself to behave like a jackass, yelling "your career is over." A video of the event shows that Burroughs actually stopped and yelled back at the fan "what have you ever done?"

The former Nebraska Cornhuskers wrestler and the fan then jaw at each other a while longer.

It's a sad, disrespectful way for one of the best wrestlers out there to conceivably see his career come to an end. He deserved better.

On a happier note, the Nebraska Baseball team has hopefully exorcised some demons and is ready to start winning big again. On Friday night, the Huskers turned to Brett Sears to right their ship and that's what he did. Sears started off a bit shaky but managed to get things turned around, eventually leading the Nebraska Cornhuskers to a 6-3 win in their series opener against Maryland.

Friday was also the first time that beer and alcohol were allowed to be sold at Haymarket Park during a Nebraska Cornhuskers game. As it turns out, there are some rather big plans for that money. The regents said they expect to use at least $150,000 of it to upgrade and update the park.

Ally Batenhorst is transferring to USC for the upcoming season, but for now, she's sticking around Lincoln to train up and get ready. With the blessing of John Cook. You can read about this unusual dynamic above.
