Amy Williams got her Nebraska women's basketball team one of the best centers in the 2027 class on Friday morning. Addison Medeck, also the best player in the state, pulled the trigger on her pledge just as the sun began rising on the Independence Day holiday.
The 6-foot-3 center announced her commitment on social media with a short post simply saying "staying home." While the message may have been simple, it's an important one for the Huskers, who are looking to keep one heck of a hot streak going in their bid to make the NCAA Tournament.
In landing Addison Medeck, Nebraska got a 4-star prospect who is not only the best player in the state but also the No. 8 center in the 2027 class. The 6-foot-3 center is also the No. 46 player in the cycle according to the 247Sports Composite Ratings.
The Papillion-La Vista South center averaged 16.5 points and 12.2 rebounds per game for the Titans last season and shot 59% from the floor. The multi-talented athlete was a second-team All-Nebraska selection in 2026. Medeck was also runner-up in the Class A state shot put competition.

Addison Medeck commits to Nebraska women’s basketball as 4-star 2027 center
Medeck becomes the second commit in NU's 2027 class, joining Sioux Falls (S.D.) Jefferson guard Brinley Altenberg, also a four-star prospect. NU's 2026 class, one of its best in school history, features five-star forward Ashlyn Koupal and four-star guards Ava Miles and Maddi Stewart.
It's clear that Amy Williams has taken her recruiting to another level over the last few years and is starting to show that Nebraska is among the best programs in the country. Not only does she have two very talented high school players in the 2027 class, but she also landed a big-bodied player through the transfer portal in former Auburn center Arek Angui.
247Sports analyst Brandon Clay was quite effusive in his praise for Medeck:
"Medeck has the size and mobility to be a real problem at the frontcourt spot. She can consistently keep opposing offensive players from making plays on the interior. In that aspect, Medeck provides an interior presence that not many in her class bring inside. She is a willing rebounder and plays with toughness around the basket. Medeck was able to play through some contact on her left shoulder and still finish with her right. Right now, Medeck is as impactful production wise on the floor as Taylor Sofilkanich is in the 2026 class."
Sofilkanich is a former 4-star signee with the Duke Blue Devils.
Amy Williams and the Nebraska women's basketball team is cooking as she continues to try to take the program to new heights.
