The Nebraska Cornhuskers basketball program is having one heck of a start to the season. There's Fred Hoiberg's squad that started out 10-0 with the latest victory being a 90-60 win over the Wisconsin Badgers.

It was the biggest blowout over Wisconsin ever. Still, more importantly than that, the Huskers looked like an excellent team on the floor both offensively and defensively. And then there's Amy Williams' squad.

The Nebraska women's basketball team didn't get challenged in their last game in the same way as they overpowered Omaha 87-25 to improve to 10-0 on their own. Both teams are also 1-0 in the Big Ten, and that's incredibly important as well. The funnest fact of all, the Nebraska basketball and volleyball teams are now a combined 52-0 this season.

Nebraska football adds another 2027 commit in Jayden Travers

On Wednesday night, the Huskers' 2027 recruiting class got even better. That's saying something considering they entered the night with a Top 5 class. This week, they added defensive lineman Jayden Travers.

More impressive even than getting the commitment from Travers is that the Huskers beat out Miami and Michigan for the monster defensive line. That's massive for a program that especially struggled in the 2026 recruiting class.

More Nebraska Cornhuskers news

  • On Wednesday night, Michigan fired head coach Sherrone Moore. That's already big, but the Huskers could poach a coach or two from the Wolverines.
  • Another potential defensive line coach candidate is Syracuse's Elijah Robinson. The veteran coach who is well known as a great recruiter was pursued by Lane Kiffin and LSU but there's reports that the Nebraska Cornhuskers might be taking the lead in the race for his services.
