Nebraska's 2026 recruiting class is relatively tiny and ranked as one of the worst in the modern era. However, boy oh boy is the 2027 class looking quite attractive. A run the likes of which haven't been seen since the Bill Callahan recruiting years continued on Wednesday night with the commitment of Jayden Travers.
The Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances Academy defensive lineman announced his commitment to Nebraska on Wednesday evening during the broadcast of the Overtime National Championship game. The 6-foot-4, 260-pound Travers becomes commit No. 7 for Matt Rhule and the Huskers in the 2027 class, adding to a group that's already in the Top 5 in the country.
Prior to kickoff, the defensive lineman spoke to Rivals about his take on Nebraska.

Nebraska football lands 7th 2027 commit in Jayden Travers
"The culture there is amazing for football," Travers said. "The coaching. They really care about your well-being. I like the defensive front they run. It’s somewhere I can play and develop at."
Travers is the first defensive line commit to the Huskers in the 2027 cycle, and the third commit Rhule and his staff have picked up since the start of November.
Travers picked Nebraska over some serious power conference schools including Miami, Texas A&M, and Michigan. The Huskers might be close to naming a defensive line coach. Perhaps Travers has enough confidence in the staff as is. Still, the timing of the announcement isn't exactly a coincidence. For now, NU can simply be happy they got another talented commit.
