There are few Nebraska football players who have seen their NFL Draft prospects rise as quickly or completely as Ty Robinson. The former Huskers defensive lineman has been impressing scouts and front office execs with his interviews and his workouts.

He’s especially seen people really take notice of his athletic ability thanks to a very impressive tryout at this spring’s NFL Combine as he posted the fastest 40-time of anyone in his group. In fact it was one of the fastest times in any of the recent combines.

Now it appears that one NFL beat writer thinks he’s found the perfect spot for Ty Robinson. The big question might end up being whether the ex-Nebraska football star will still be around when that “perfect fit” comes calling.

Veteran NFL draft insider Tony Pauline is reporting that the Seahawks are eyeing Robinson on Day Two of the 2025 NFL draft. One reason why the NFC West team might be one of those perfect fits is that they do need defensive line help. They also have two picks very close together (No. 50 and No. 52), which will allow them to get two chances at the former Husker.

As Seahawkswire recently pointed out:

“Seattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider loves drafting versatile defensive linemen. The Seahawks are entering the 2025 NFL draft with a fairly stout and deep defensive line, but you should expect Schneider to take a lineman at some point. One potential target is beginning to emerge.”

Robinson fits the bill for what the ‘Hawks could be looking for at this draft. He recorded 37 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, and seven sacks in 2024. He also played all over the defensive line, depending on where the Cornhuskers needed him. He’s also someone who has managed to get his mits on passes. He had four passes batted down in 2023 and six passes defended in 2024.

Ty Robinson likely won’t hear his name called on the first day of the NFL Draft when it kicks off this Thursday. But it seems more likely that the former Nebraska football star won’t have to wait long to find out where his next stop will be.
