The Nebraska football team has been rolling out the red carpet for one of the best quarterback prospects in the 2027 class. And as Trae Taylor gets closer and closer to announcing his commitment, it sure feels as if the Huskers are in the running for landing him.
Is it possible that Nebraska could be turning itself into QB U? With Dylan Raiola and TJ lateef in the boat from the 2024 and 2025 classes, as well as Dayton Raiola locked in for the 2026 class, the Nebraska Cornhuskers are looking to keep the party going for 2027. Trae Taylor would certainly fit that bill and after previously singing the praises of Matt Rhule and company, he sung the praises of the Husker staff yet again in a recent interview.
Trae Taylor sat down and gave his take on several of the schools that are recruiting him the hardest to Sports Illustrated. And Nebraska football fans should love the way he feels about the Huskers:
Trae Taylor says Nebraska football has best staff and top facilities
"A staff, as a whole, I connect the best here. And their sports broadcasting degree is top notch. If you ask me, Nebraska has the best facilities in the country."
It’s hard not to get excited when the No. 12 quarterback in the 2027 class is saying such glowing things about the Cornhuskers. Granted, one of the hallmarks of the gunslingers comments during this entire process has been one of extreme politeness and positivity.
While it’s great to hear him talk about NU the way he has, and he clearly has meshed well with the program and the coaches, he’s said very positive things about several of the schools that are wooing him.
However, it’s hard not to think that of the four final schools of LSU, Texas A&M, and Illinois, Nebraska got the most glowing comments. And when you consider that NU is still in the running and teams like Alabama, Auburn and Georgia have been cut from consideration.
Nebraska football fans only have a few more weeks to wait. While Taylor was originally supposed to commit in June but he’s moved up the date to May 1.
