Once upon a time, former Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola was an Ohio State commit. While he made a stop as a commit to Georgia before eventually landing with the Huskers, it's possible that Ryan Day and the Buckeyes still think NU's behind-the-scenes work cost them a 5-star QB. Now they might be looking to pay back the favor.
Trae Taylor has long been a Husker commit. He's one of the best quarterbacks in the 2027 class, and despite rumors here and there that he might go elsewhere, he's made it clear he's solid. He's so solid, in fact, that he plans to move to Omaha to play for Millard South for his final high school season.
Trae Taylor still has Nebraska football in strong shape despite Ohio State’s latest push
As solid as Taylor might be, when Ohio State starts making a push for a vaunted commit, Nebraska fans have every right to be nervous. On3's Allen Trieu reported on Thursday morning that such a push is officially happening. Buckeyes coaches reportedly took a trip out to the quarterback's current school to see him and start really weighing his resolve to be a Cornhusker.
Situation worth monitoring, but Taylor is still on track to move to Omaha (Neb.) Millard South for his senior year.

Very little cause for concern at this point I'm told, but you can't exactly shrug your shoulders at Ohio State's presence in any recruitment https://t.co/5NXQCOUApj
Ohio State entering the picture is a problem. However, according to Rivals insider Tim Verghese, there's no reason to panic. The analyst said that Taylor is still on track to move to Omaha in the near future.
Even if Husker fans shouldn't break out in cold sweats thinking about the possibility of a decommitment and a shift to the Big Ten rival, no one can brush off the Buckeyes when they come calling.
Trae Taylor means too much to Nebraska football for Ohio State to be ignored
"Very little cause for concern at this point, I'm told," Verghese wrote on Twitter. "But you can't exactly shrug your shoulders at Ohio State's presence in any recruitment."
It's not just the idea of losing a talented quarterback that is the concern with Taylor. He's also a Nebraska football fan favorite thanks to his dedication and loyalty, as well as his efforts on social media to get others to come to the Huskers. With plenty of time until signing day, this is one to watch, even if it's not a 5-alarm fire just yet.
