Nebraska football commit Trae Taylor just keeps impressing onlookers, no matter what he's doing. Whether talking about moving to Omaha to get ready for the Huskers or dominating prospect showdowns as he did earlier this week, the 4-star quarterback just keeps doing everything right.
He did a ton right this week at The Sevens, a prospect competition staged near Atlanta, Georgia. The 7-on-7 showdown featured several of the best prospects of the 2027 class. Taylor quickly showed that he stands out from the pack, eventually earning the Alpha Dog title, posting the best performance of the showdown according to the analysts in attendance.
As shared on social media by one Reddit user, the Nebraska commit was "throwing the ball at a truly elite level." Analysts who watched him throw were said to be impressed by his arm, his accuracy, his timing, and his fearlessness. Those watching him go against some of the best in the country also thought Taylor looked as good as he ever has.
I don’t cover Nebraska, but this was the best QB I saw all day… He had some RPM’s on it and put in tight windows.. Very impressed @Sean_Callahan https://t.co/bRZWiD6H1l

Nebraska football quarterback Trae Taylor earns Alpha Dog honors at The Sevens showcase
The point of the 7-on-7 competitions is to allow the best prospects to really stand out from the crowd. Obviously, they aren't facing a real pass rush or a full field of opposition. How they perform in these competitions is far from a one-to-one comparison to how they will play once they get to college.
Still, the people who were watching these prospects take each other on understand all of that. They've watched many, many players come through The Sevens and other competitions like it. And they were all more than a little impressed by how Trae Taylor performed.
Nebraska fans have long been excited to see what the quarterback can do once he signs with Nebraska and joins them next spring. His outing this week should only make them more excited.
