Matt Rhule and the Nebraska football team’s coaching staff have been on quite a heater this month. Tuesday night saw another commitment roll in with Jailen Hill’s pledge. Now the Huskers are looking to add to a talented offensive line class, and Geep Wade wants to steal away 4-star interior offensive lineman Kyler Kuhn.
Kuhn took his official visit to Lincoln last weekend and is now unofficially done checking out schools until he announces a commitment around the end of the month. That would seem to give the Cornhuskers a bit of an inside track. Now Wade, Rhule, and the rest need to press their advantage and close the deal. Should they do so, the 2027 class could end up being one of the best offensive line classes in recent memory, especially if they manage to land a few other targets for the unit.
Kuhn appears to be down to the Huskers, the Iowa Hawkeyes, and the Missouri Tigers. They are also the last three visits he took in order to figure out where he wants to go, once and for all. The 4-star offensive lineman saw Missouri on May 29, then Iowa on June 5, and Nebraska on June 12. He’s also taken numerous unofficial to each school. Kuhn took trips to Nebraska five times, Iowa five times, and Missouri four times.
The St. Pius X product from Kansas City is currently ranked No. 174 nationally, No. 10 at IOL, and No. 2 in Missouri according to the 247Sports Composite. Should the Cornhuskers manage to steal him out from under the Tigers, it would not only be a massive win for the program but also continue to establish a pipeline into the neighboring state.
Kyler Kuhn gives Nebraska football chance to beat Iowa and Missouri
With Jamar Mozee on board, Nebraska has worked tirelessly to get as many Missouri products as possible. So far in 2027, NU has secured the commitments of Caleb Green and Justyn Lindsay. The Huskers stole Green away from Missouri, flipping him from the Tigers this past weekend.
Nebraska is also squaring off with Iowa on a couple of different targets. It’s possible the Huskers could land both Kyler Kuhn and Barrett Kitrell and make sure the Hawkeyes go 0-for-2 in offensive line battles with Rhule’s squad this month.
