Nebraska football's hot streak during the biggest visit weekend of the spring continued on Sunday morning when 3-star linebacker Eli Harris pulled the trigger with a third commitment in the last three days. Even more interesting than the hot streak continuing is that the Huskers officially have quite the pipeline set up not just to the Peach State, but also to one specific Georgia high school.

Harris is officially the third commitment from Grayson High. He visited this weekend alongside teammates KD Jones and Jordan Agbanoma, who both committed in late May. There's a fourth Grayson teammate who analysts expect to commit this weekend: tight end Joey Hunter.

Eli Harris gives Nebraska football another Grayson High recruiting victory

Harris joins defensive back Bryce Williams and defensive lineman Errol Demontagnac as players pullin the trigger on commitments before the weekend is even out. The really good news is that Harris ' recruitment came together so quickly, he wasn't neccesarily one of the players analysts expected Nebraska to land this weekend. Knowing that, it feels as though there could be at least two more commitments and NU could even finish its first big weekend with as many as six commitments added to its 2027 class.

Officially, Harris announced his commitment at the official visit dinner Saturday evening and made the decision public on Sunday morning. The 3-star committed to the Huskers over Texas A&M and Pitt, the other two programs in his top three. Harris is Nebraska’s first linebacker commit of the 2027 cycle.

Harris might not have the highest recruiting rankings as he’s “just” a 3-star prospect ranked as the No. 113 linebacker and No. 129 player in the state of Georgia according to Rivals’ Industry Rankings, but it’s clear that there are coaches who believe the defender will eventually be a much better college player than the recruiting services currently view him.

One reason Texas A&M, one of the up-and-coming SEC powers, was going hard after Ellis is that those who have watched him most closely know he can be a very versatile defender. He tallied 67 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, 3 sacks, and five pass breakups in his junior season, and in college, he could play EDGE, linebacker, or perhaps even safety if needed.

Nebraska coaches are busy celebrating yet another commitment on Sunday morning but there are a few more players, including a possible flip from Minnesota who could announce they're pledged to the Huskers by the end of the day.
