The Nebraska football team hoped an avalanche of commitments would come from the 15 players who took official visits to Lincoln this weekend. An avalanche usually needs to be knocked loose before it can really start rolling, and on Friday night, the commitment of Errol Demontagnac could be the thing that does knock everything loose.

The 3-star defensive lineman announced on his first night on NU's campus that he wanted to make his playing days with the Huskers official. The Armwood (Seffner, FL) prospect might not be that highly ranked, but he's gotten plenty of attention from power programs such as Florida State, Michigan, Virginia, Stanford, Purdue, and Illinois. Even with the interest from some of the best football schools in the country, Demontagnac was one of several Cornhuskers recruits predicted by analysts to pull the trigger on Matt Rhule and Co. this weekend.

Nebraska didn't even have to wait until Sunday to get Demontagnac to pull the trigger, and now he can help the staff and the other commits work on guys like Ahmad Hudson as they visit the rest of the weekend.

Demontagnac made his first trip to Nebraska in March, a visit that went so well, he quickly lined up a return visit later that month to see the Huskers’ spring game. Despite that return trip never materializing, it was clear the Florida defensive lineman was very interested in what the Huskers had to offer.

Errol Demontagnac starts what could be a massive recruiting weekend for Nebraska football

Demontagnac is the second 2027 defensive line commit for Nebraska, joining Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances Academy three-star defensive lineman Jayden Travers is in the class.

It also appears Nebraska nabbed itself quite the sack master from the 2027 class. Last year, the 6-foot-3, 290-pound interior defender recorded 87 tackles, 30 tackles for loss, and 14 sacks as a junior. With Errol Demontagnac's commitment, the Huskers now boast 12 pledges in the 2027 class and four since May 1.
