With the Sunday commitment of Utah EDGE Ma'atoe Moe, the Nebraska football team has officially landed a quarter of its 2027 recruiting class in the last three days. The 3-star defender out of Timpview (Orem, UT) officially announced his commitment on Sunday morning, making it the fourth commitment of the weekend in a class that’s grown to 15 pledges in the blink of an eye.

Moe’s commitment is especially interesting because, before the big visit weekend, he was already committed to the Minnesota Golden Gophers. He gave PJ Fleck’s squad his pledge after their massive official visit weekend to close out May, but shortly thereafter, he said he wanted to back off a bit and really consider things.

On Saturday night, projections started rolling in that Ma'atoe Moe had indeed decided Nebraska was the better spot for him. It’s apparent that while he didn’t make the commitment public until this morning, he announced it to the team on Saturday.

Linebacker and now future teammate Eli Harris also announced his commitment on Saturday as the team was taken to the State Capitol for a very interesting dinner.

“Nebraska felt like home,” Moe told Rivals’ analyst Greg Biggins. “I loved it there, and I’m really excited to be a Husker. I really connected well with the coaching staff and the players on the team; they treated me like family. It was amazing being here and seeing the energy from the staff and how well everyone connected with the players and other recruits. You can tell they’re building something special and I’m excited to be a part of it.”

Like several of the commits Nebraska has grabbed for this cycle, Moe is considered by most analysts as a versatile defender. He can either play as a rush end or, if he bulks up just a little bit more, could move inside as a defensive tackle.

The Huskers now have 15 commitments for this cycle, with the possibility that even more will roll in before the end of the weekend.
Ma'atoe Moe is Nebraska’s third defensive lineman the team has added this year, with two committing this weekend.
