The Nebraska football team had an incredible recruiting run in June. The Huskers landed 11 commits in the month and grabbed the attention of several other 2028 prospects, including offensive line target Jamaree Turner. Turner was one of several Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, Nevada) players who came to Lincoln to camp as part of head coach Matt Rhule's Friday Night Lights camp. In the process, Turner got an offer from the Cornhuskers. It's clear they liked what they saw in the monster lineman, and as it turns out, the prospect very much liked what he saw when he took his unofficial visit to NU.

Turner clearly bonded with the coaching staff; in this case, that means offensive line coach Geep Wade, who seems to be continuing his especially red-hot streak. Wade, along with defensive back Addison Williams, teamed up to score the majority of those 11 commits. Speaking to Rivals analyst Tim Verghese, Turner was effusive in his praise for the coaches he worked with while in Lincoln.

"I just love how they coach, they play football very aggressive and very smart," Turner reportedly told the analyst. "They're straight to the point."

The praise for how Nebraska is coaching, especially on the offensive line, echoes what other recruits (and, most notably, several commits) have said about Wade. The former Georgia Tech OL coach has also made it clear that he prides himself on coaching in a way that resonates with recruits and his players alike.

Turner is a 4-star prospect in the Rivals Industry Ranking, listed as the No. 281 player nationally, No. 15 interior offensive lineman, and No. 3 player in the state Nevada. While the Huskers have clearly made a strong impression on him, he's pursued by some of the best programs in the country.

In addition to Nebraska, the 2028 prospect has offers from Arizona State, BYU, California, Hawaii, Maryland, Mississippi State, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon State, Sacramento State, SMU, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and UNLV, among others.

At the moment, it looks like the Sooners might be the biggest competitor for Turner's services. In other words, the old rivalry has been reignited, just off the field instead of on it.

There's still plenty of time for other teams to enter the fray, since Turner won't be able to sign with a school until December of 2027. However, Nebraska made good progress by having him in Lincoln in June, and it looks like, for the time being, Rhule and Co. are the frontrunners.
