It appears that former Nebraska football wide receiver Isaiah Neyor has decided he wants one more year in college. Though he’s still ready to be done in Lincoln.
Neyor had previously left the Huskers and bowed out of playing in Saturday’s Pinstripe Bowl. The reason he’d opted out had previously been that he wanted to go pro. He was supposedly trying to protect himself as he got ready for a pro career.
Now it looks as though he’s realized going pro isn’t quite right for him yet. He might need to prove that he can be a better receiver than he was for the Nebraska football team. And he’s going to do it through the transfer portal.
Former Nebraska football wide receiver Isaiah Neyor looking for greener pastures
Late on Friday night, On3’s Pete Nakos reported that Neyor had decided to enter the transfer portal. It appears that this move means he’ll come back for one more season, as a grad transfer.
That means that when he does find his new team, it will be his fourth school. Before coming to the Huskers, Neyor had played with Texas and Wyoming.
At both stops, he showed a speed burning ability that got the attention of head coach Matt Rhule and his staff. While he did rack up 34 catches for 355 yards and 5 TDs, he did struggle at times, as did most of NU’s receivers.
A case of the dropsies and problems blocking on the perimeter plagued Neyor’s season. However, he was healthy for the entirety of the Nebraska football season and that’s a big deal for a receiver who has been hampered by injuries in the past. In the 2025 Neyor will look to show he can stay healthy, and be a productive deep threat for whatever team he goes to.
