The Nebraska footbal has been involved in the transfer portal more than it ever has been. There’s been some interesting stories surfacing from the portal, including one player who entered the portal, then left it and then hopped back in, all in the span of less than a week.

That was strange. The story of wide receiver Isaiah Neyor is even stranger.

On Saturday night, Neyor reportedly exited the transfer portal. That technically means he’s still a member of the Nebraska football team. However, it’s extremely unclear whether he’s actually planning on sticking around, or this is something else entirely.

Things get even stranger for Neyor. The wide receiver, who has also played at Texas and Wyoming, initially opted out of the Pinstripe Bowl because he was declaring for the NFL draft.

However, not long after the bowl game, Neyor decided that instead of going pro, he would enter the portal. There was even a school that appeared to be the frontrunner and there were even reports he had signed with Louisville.

However, he never officially joined the Cardinals and that’s when things started to get really strange. It was believed he’d decided to go pro again. But now, he’s pulling out of the portal, which is at least an indication that he’s planning on coming back to the Huskers.

It seems extremely unlikely that Neyor will play with Nebraska football again. Though stranger things have happened. The Huskers certainly wouldn’t hate to have a veteran pass catcher with blazing speed. Perhaps he’s realizd that there’s a chance to put up some big numbers in Dylan Raiola’s second season and the first full year with Dana Holgorsen as the OC. This one will be an interesting one to keep an eye on.
