With the Nebraska football team’s spring practice officially underway, there’s quite a bit of excitement over several different position groups. As has been the case for the last few years, the wide receiver unit is getting the most attention. For the second straight year, the transfers are making the most headlines, but there’s one new true freshman that has been grabbing eyeballs this week.
What’s surprising about that little factoid is that its not Cortez Mills that is hte one grabbing those eyes. It turns out it’s another freshman that is turning heads and especially turned heads just a few days ago.
Isaiah Mozee was quite the get for the Nebraska football when he switched his commitment from the Oregon Ducks. It appears that he’s showing exactly why. During an open period of the Huskers practice Mozee caught several passes that analysts were quite impressed with.
We got our first look at Nebraska's revamped WR room. Even with the hype around additions like Dane Key, Hardley Gilmore and Cortez Mills, it was freshman WR Isaiah Mozee who stole the show

Nebraska football freshman receiver stands out among talented group
Obviously, this is the time of year when the hype for the Huskers gets out of control. There’s an old joke about Nebraska being the off-season National Champions. There’s obviously going to be a desire to dismiss what Mozee has been doing so far this spring practie because of that.
However, the Nebraska football team needs guys who can step up and perform better than the wide receiver corps did last year. It was a serious problem with the offense and the fact that Jahmal Banks and Isaiah Neyor have both looked good trying out for the pros prove it. Mozee could be the beginning of that unit turning things around.
