With Jamar Mozee and Daikiel Shorts on the Nebraska football staff, it’s clear that the Huskers are resetting the way they recruit wide receivers. Add in Dana Holgorsen and his high powered offensive attack and NU might become more attractive to some of the top prospects at WR in the country in short order.
The Huskers are certainly hoping that’s the case when talking about taking aim at players like Damarion Mays. The Dallas, Texas pass catcher also happens to be located in an area where Matt Rhule and company have long tried to plumb.

Through ten games, Mays hauled in 68 catches for 1,640 yards and 14 touchdowns. According to MaxPreps, he finished third in the state of Texas in total receiving yards.
Mays also took two kickoff returns for touchdowns off of just three kickoff return attempts. Certainly a talented special teams player would be especially attractive to the Huskers.
Mays’ best game occurred in the team’s final game of the season. He finished the game with 13 catches for 289 yards and two touchdowns.
Nebraska football has a long climb towards making any ground with Damarion Mays. But with the offer, they’re on his radar at the very least.
