All the worries for the Nebraska football team that its prized running back recruit was looking elsehwere can not be put to rest. Amir Brown, who had at least looked toward possible greener pastures in the SEC is locking in and locking down his recruitment.

Brown announced on Thursday afternoon that he's done with the recruiting portion of his life. The Husker commit, who is also a former North Carolina commit said he's shutting down communication with other teams.

Amir Brown gives Nebraska football a massive recruiting win by shutting things down

If there was any doubt this was good news for Nebraska, he made sure to shut down any ambiguity at the same time. "I Am Officially Shutting Down My Recruitment Let’s Do It Husker Nation," Brown wrote on Twitter.

While there were worries that Brown might be listening to Alabama, or even Colorado, some hints surfaced recently that showed the Huskers thought they had their man locked down. Most recently was another running back prospect commiting to Syracuse.

Amir Brown staying locked in is a huge sign for Nebraska football’s 2027 class

Xavier Bala had been considered a strong lean towards the Huskers earlier in his recruitment. However, that started to fade over the last month and earlier this week, he committed to the ACC school.

Amir Brown is a 4-star running back in the 2027 class that is one of the crown jewels of a class Nebraska is hoping will show things are moving in the right direction. At one point, the Huskers were in the Top 10 but have dropped just inside the Top 25. Still, Brown allowing them to no longer worry about keeping him in the boat will allow Matt Rhule and his staff to focus elsewhere.
