Since Alabama came calling for Nebraska football commit Amir Brown, things have gotten a bit tense in Lincoln. Now that Noah Rogers, the 4-star running back's former teammate, is doing some serious peer recruiting, the Huskers might need to go back to the drawing board at running back in the 2027 class.

Rogers spent his first two years at North Carolina State, but he transferred to Alabama this winter. Now he wants Amir Brown to join him on the Crimson Tide.

The Nebraska commit recently told 247Sports' Brett Greenberg that Rogers is "Encouraging me to visit … knows my play style & he thinks I will be great in the 'Bama offense."

Nebraska football hopes to hold onto Amir Brown as 2027 RB weighs options

Considering Brown previously went on the record saying that he's thought about Alabama "every night and day" since he got the official offer, Nebraska has plenty to worry about. That Brown has already committed to a school and then decommitted last year makes it that much more likely that he could be swayed to change his mind again.

For now, Amir Brown is a Nebraska football commit. It's certainly possible that he's flattered to get so much attention. Still, he might realize that Lincoln is the best place for him to go, especially if he wants to play early.

Nebraska's running back situation is as unsettled as it has been for some time. The Huskers have some young talent, but no one is a cut-and-dry starter for this season, let alone 2027 when Brown could join the program. Hopefully, that realization and his commitment will keep him coming to NU.
