It's been a bit since a non-quarterback recruit was as coveted by Nebraska football as Ahmad Hudson is. When adding in that Fred Hoiberg and the Nebraska basketball team would also love the Louisiana native to play on the hard court, Husker fans are waiting with bated breath to see if Hudson picks NU over LSU.
Hudson took a step towards making Husker fans happy when he narrowed down the list of schools he's considering to just Nebraska and the Bayou Bengals. Unfortunately, there are more than a few whispers that he's leaning towards the Tigers. In fact, there are a few whispers that he's a silent commitment to Lane Kiffin's squad.
Saying Nebraska and LSU are the only teams he's looking at is more than lip service. Hudson moved up his commitment date and canceled several other official visits. He's nearing a point of no return, and Matt Rhule and Co. hope they have as much of a fighting shot as it's looked for months.

Ahmad Hudson keeps Nebraska football alive in a major recruiting battle with LSU
Kiffin's relationship with Hudson dates back to 2024, giving his staff an early edge in the recruitment. That head start, combined with location and program momentum, has helped position the Tigers as the current favorite.
Nebraska has made up ground by being relentless in its recruitment of the top tight end in the 2027 class. Hudson has also become good friends with 2027 quarterback commit Trae Taylor and wide receiver commit Antayvious Ellis. The basketball team, making it clear that it would love the services of Hudson, has also helped with recruiting.
Time is running out for Nebraska to snatch Ahmad Hudson away from LSU
It stands to reason Will Wade and LSU basketball would love to have Hudson as well, though with him just moving back to Baton Rouge, Wade hasn't made those intentions clear. That could be the secret weapon for the Cornhuskers.
For now, it appears Ahmad Hudson is leaning towards LSU. That puts Nebraska at Defcon 1 but they haven't lost just yet.
