Nebraska football's recruiting heater in the state of Georgia has added another name to a growing list of Grayson High School players who could eventually play for the Huskers. After securing pledges from 2027 teammates Jordan Agbanoma and KD Jones, Matt Rhule and Co. have turned their attention to linebacker Aaron Black.
The Cornhuskers just started making a run at the defender, according to On3's Tim Verghese. While the defender is a real diamond in the rough, it's clear NU is far from the only Power 4 school more than a little interested in landing his commitment. In addition to the Huskers, Black now has offers from nearly 30 programs, including Florida State, Iowa State, Maryland, North Carolina, Northwestern, Old Dominion, USF, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, Syracuse, and Chattanooga.
Black currently isn't rated by either On3 or 247Sports, but considering he's got over two dozen schools pursuing him, it's clear the linebacker will see his rating change over the summer and the 2026 season. That Nebraska has some secret weapons in its recruitment is only good news as its profile continues to grow.
Grayson High has turned into a talent factory for the Huskers in this cycle in a way that NU has rarely seen anywhere outside its own backyard. The Peach State in general has turned into one heck of a pipeline, as Rhule and his staff have already secured four commits from Agbanoma, Jones, Corey Hadley, and Timi Aliu. Other Power 4 programs heavily recruited all four players and represent real success in building a Top 15 program at the very least for Nebraska this cycle.

Aaron Black gives Nebraska football another Grayson recruiting target to watch
As the official visit season kicks off, Nebraska's biggest competition for Black could be Florida State, which hosted the defender this past weekend.
He's coming off a solid junior year at Grayson High School in Loganville, Georgia. Black produced 27 tackles (18 solo), 5 tackles for loss, 1 interception, and 2 forced fumbles. Currently, the 6-foot-2, 205-pounder is especially interesting because he's a rather versatile defender who could line up at linebacker or safety. He's even got a chance to be a decent edge rusher.
However, as far as the Huskers' plans, new defensive coordinator Rob Aurich sees him fitting in at the second level as a linebacker. That's interesting because Black is more comfortable in the defensive backfield as a safety. However, NU is far from the only school that's told him his future at the next level will come playing closer to the line of scrimmage.
Black has yet to visit Nebraska, but has been following the program from afar and has almost certainly learned quite a bit about i from his high school teammates. The next step in recruiting the 2027 defender would, of course, include getting him to Lincoln so he can take in all the sights and sounds.
Things could really heat up for Nebraska and Aaron Black as recruiting shakes out over the next few weeks. Should the Huskers lose out or score some of their top targets, it's possible he could fall by the wayside or become a more direct target. Either way, the Huskers' recruitment of yet another Grayson player is something to watch over the summer.
