The Nebraska Cornhuskers softball team is reloading in hopes of making another run at the Women's College World Series. As part of that reloading, the Huskers landed a transfer outfielder, Samantha Bolding, who was the 2025 MAC Freshman of the Year.
Bolding will be a junior for the Huskers, and she spent the first two years of her career at Toledo, where she was on the All-MAC second team in her debut season. Last season, Bolding logged a .354 batting average with 39 runs scored and 52 hits while starting 47 games. She added 35 RBI with 13 home runs and 10 doubles. She slugged at .687 and had an on-base percentage of .463 for an OPS of 1.150.
In 2025, the newest Nebraska Cornhuskers softball addition went 46-for-143 to total a .322 batting average. She scored 31 runs and drove in 38 on 46 hits. Bolding registered 13 home runs and eight doubles for a .650 slugging percentage.
Former Nebraska football star looks to have an NFL shot
Former Nebraska football wide receiver Isaiah Neyor looked like he might have a shot to make the San Francisco 49ers last year. However, while impressing his teammates, he didn't do enough to convince the coaches. Things might be differnet this season.
Now with the Green Bay Packers, head coach Matt LaFleur has said he is impressed by the speedy receiver. LaFleur hasn't said that the former Husker is definitely making the team in 2026, but just a few months before fall camp starts, it's looking pretty good.
“I’d say it’s night and day for him,” LaFleur said of Neyor last week. “He’s really shown a lot of flashes of excellence. He’s another big, long guy that can run. You can never have enough of those guys, especially at that position. I’m excited about what’s to come from training camp for him.”

- Nebraska quarterback commit Trae Taylor has gotten a ton of praise this spring, but nothing showed just how good he is like his insane scramble and throw for a touchdown in the NebraskaPreps 7-on-7 competition on Thursday. He showed the escapability and arm that's made him so attractive.
- Later Saturday evening, the Huskers are hosting an open-to-the-public Red Sea Rising at Memorial Stadium. The event will feature the second annual Battle of the Boneyard 7-on-7 Tournament. After the event, the program has promised a big announcement. It seems likely the Huskers will unveil an alternate uniform at some point in the 2026 season.
- A pair of Nebraska Cornhuskers baseball players earned MLB Draft Combine invites. Junior pitchers Carson Jasa and Ty Horn were invited to the annual scouting event ahead of July's MLB Draft. The pair are two of 334 draft-eligible players set to take part in the event in front of MLB personnel staffers and scouts. Jasa seems the most likely candidate to be called first. He's considered the No. 171 prospect eligible for the draft.
