The Nebraska Cornhuskers football team is having one heck of a summer on the recruiting front. On Monday, a heater that saw the Huskers secure 11 of their 21 commitments coming into July has now added another one this month. 4-star wide receiver Khalil Taylor announced on Monday evening that he was officially committing to Matt Rhule and Co.Â
As the 22nd addition to NU's 2027 class, he's also their third receiver, and as a bonus, the Cornhuskers can say they stole one away from Matt Campbell and Penn State. Taylor committed to the Nittany Lions last year, when James Franklin was their head coach. There was talk that Campbell had managed to bring him back into the fold earlier this spring. However, Monday showed that wasn't the case.
The Nebraska Cornhuskers aren't done working on the 2027 class just yet, but assuming they can keep everyone that they now have, it will be one of the best classes the program has seen in quite some time. It's also a massive improvement over the shockingly small and very low-ranked 2026 class, which had some fans deeply worried about the direction of the program under Rhule.
Nebraska volleyball is going national this summer.
Three members of the Nebraska volleyball team will compete at the NORCECA Women's U21 Pan American Cup from July 7-12 at the Covelli Center in Columbus, Ohio.Â
Setter Campbell Flynn and middle blockers Manaia Ogbechie and Keoni Williams were all named to the 14-player Team. In this tournament, the U.S. is in a pool with Canada, Mexico, and Venezuela, and their first match is later on Tuesday at 6 pm (CT) against Venezuela.

The Huskers were involved in two recruiting battles on Monday. While they landed 4-star receiver Khalil Taylor, they lost out to the Florida Gators for 3-star defensive back Kamauri "Bam" Whitfield. The Florida native announced his commitment to the SEC school earlier Monday afternoon, just a couple of hours before the Huskers rebounded to land the 4-star receiver.
The federal government indicted one former Nebraska basketball target on Monday. Much-traveled guard Kerr Kriisa had five charges brought against him after an FBI investigation alleges he committed several incidents of fraud, including pretending to be his mother and claiming she had cancer.
One reason the Nebraska football team is so hot on the recruiting trail right now is that they secured quarterback Trae Taylor early. Despite the Illinois native repeatedly saying he's not committing anywhere else, CBS Sports' Cody Nagel still believes he might eventually flip. If he does, it will be to play for Ohio State.
The Nebraska Cornhuskers baseball team secured a new commitment on Monday. Millard West 2027 pitcher Colton Williams announced his pledge and could be a big talent in the near future. According to Prep Baseball, the 17-year-old already brings some decent heat, topping out at 89.4 MPH with his fastball.Â
