As the Nebraska Cornhuskers women's basketball team prepares for the 2025-2026 campaign and hopes for a third straight trip to the NCAA Tournament, they'll be doing so with some new faces. Among the very best of the new arrivals is former Maryland Terapins star Emily Fisher.
Fisher recently talked to the Hastings Tribune about what it meant to finally be a member of the Huskers. Especially since when she committed out of high school, Amy Williams and company were among her finalists.
“I didn't want to go blindly into the portal not knowing who to reach out to," she said. "They were willing to talk to me still, even though I went a different way the first time and I knew they really wanted me because of that," She said of the Nebraska Cornhuskers women's basketball staff.
"The relationship between me and my family, they reached out to us more than anybody. I was able to talk to them like friends. When you come here you feel it, too. It’s not for a show. It's real."
Dana Holgorsen gets a ton of praise from Nebraska Cornhuskers' head coach
Speaking at Big Ten media days earlier this week, Huskers' head coach Matt Rhule addressed a number of subjects. Among those was how happy he was with the makeup of his staff in his third year in Lincoln, especially offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen.
Holgorsen took over as the OC late in the season last year and then resigned to be the full-time guy in 2025. Rhule made it clear that he's absolutely ecstatic to have the former Houston and West Virginia head coach on the staff.
"One thing about Dana," the Nebraska football coach said. "I'm just going to say it over and over and over again, because I think everyone sees Dana ... Like, this guy's a grinder. He's a worker. He's in there all the time. If you don't know, if you're not detailed, you're not executing, you're not going to play."
Clip of Dylan Raiola should have Husker fans mighty happy
In a recent interview on the Cover 3 Podcast, Raiola talked a bit about his relationship with his lookalike, Patrick Mahomes. While everyone wants to poke fun at it, Raiola is taking it seriously.
Nebraska's Dylan Raiola On his relationship with Patrick Mahomes:

"What Kobe did to Mike, That's kind of what it is for me to Patrick" #BigTenMediaDays #Nebraska #dylanraiola pic.twitter.com/yIGoYVvJZG
Raiola said that while he isn't comparing himself to the late Kobe Bryant, Raiola noted that the NBA star shaped his game after the NBA GOAT Michael Jordan, so why would Raiola not want to shape his game after one of the greatest, if not the greatest, quarterbacks in football right now?
"What Kobe did to Mike, That's kind of what it is for me to Patrick"
Nebraska Cornhuskers fans should love that Dylan Raiola has that kind of drive, while still having a good head on his shoulders.
