Nebraska football head coach Matt Rhule is quite excited about what the Huskers will do in 2025, and Dana Holgorsen is one of the big reasons why.

Speaking at Big Ten media days, Rhule addressed a number of subjects. Indeed, his players and his quarterback, Dylan Raiola, were front and center. But Rhule did have a one-sided session where he talked about how happy he is to have the former Houston and West Virginia head coach.

Matt Rhule touts Dana Holgorsen’s “grinder” approach as key to Nebraska football’s 2025 offensive rise

"One thing about Dana," the Nebraska football coach said. "I'm just going to say it over and over and over again, because I think everyone sees Dana ... Like, this guy's a grinder. He's a worker. He's in there all the time. If you don't know, if you're not detailed, you're not executing, you're not going to play."

Rhule went on to say that one of the things he likes about Holgorsen is that football and winning is always the key. And he sees a kindred spirit on the offensive side of the ball to Rhule's defensive background.

"He doesn't care about how much money he made. He doesn't care about how many plays you made last week. He cares about your preparation that week. And probably it's a fault to me. That's the way I am on defense. I've probably never been that way on offense because it would probably work the other way. And so having a guy who sees it like me is really, really good."

It's been a good week at the Big Ten Media Days. Rhule and his Huskers are entering the 2025 season with a level of confidence and optimism they haven't had before. And this time it feels like there's a real reason for the Nebraska football team to have that level of confidence.
