The Nebraska Cornhuskers volleyball movie are getting ready for a very big showdown against the Wisconsin Badgers. While it doesn’t have the feel of previous seasons when both teams were undefeated or nearly undefeated, it’s not as though the Wiscy is suddenly a bad team, or anything close.

Friday night will be the first real test for John Cook and company shortly. The Huskers have been experiencing a softer conference schedule the last few weeks, so this match will be a way for them to gear up for a final push in the regular season.

The good news is that the Nebraksa Cornhuskers have some edge when preparing for Wisconsin. At least assistant coach Jordan Larson thinks it can be an edge, especially when facing off against some talented blockers. She said as much on Wednesday night when he appeared on the Huskers Radio Network.

Nebraska Cornhuskers have x-factor in preparing for Wisconsin

“I think that we're lucky that we have some boys in practice that we can kind of hit against,” Larson said, laying out something they take advantage of when prepping for a big match. “And then also against our players.  So we know that we're going to have to mix up shots and hit high, but at the end of the day, it's like we think we need to do different but we just need to do the same.  And if we continue to execute at a high level, we'll be just fine.”

Larson also talked about how, while they know they have a big match, they’re trying to ensure it doesn’t get into their heads.

“I think you can get caught up in that and you can make the event bigger than it is and don't get me wrong, it's a big opponent, and there are many factors in that, but again, we control a lot on our side.  We control our own individual behavior which then impacts the team and all that kind of bleeds together.”

The Nebraska Cornhuskers have a big task ahead, listening to Jordan Larson, it feels like they’re ready.
