The Nebraska Cornhuskers volleyball team is on a heck of a run. Since they lost a shocking upset to the SMU Mustangs, they’ve won 17 straight matches. Even more impressive than that was that the Huskers really haven’t been challenged all that often.
One of the big reasons why NU has had so much success of late can be credited to middle blocker Andi Jackson. The second-year player is really starting to come into her own and is impressing fans, her teammates and coaches like.
The Nebraska Cornhuskers volleyball star recently got some attention from the conference as well. She won her first career defensive player of the year award. It’s likely not going to be her last. Earlier this week, assistant Nebraska coach Jordan Larson say down for an interview with the Huskers Radio Network and talked about how much she gets geeked up when she watches Jackson play.
Nebraska Cornhuskers star draws big praise from coaches
“It’s just like, yeah, just keep hitting. And she hits with such pace that it's, yeah. I mean, and I think one of the coolest things is just Andi’s just such a light out there. Like her energy, her vibe, like her, I mean, so selfless and just wants to be; she's such a hard worker, which explains why, you know, she does so well.”
She’s also someone that has a ton of talented teammates. The Nebraska Cornhuskers volleyball team had a really great chemistry last season. It feels as though it’s even better this year. And that could mean a big prize at the end of the season.
