Boston College head football coach Bill O’Brien met with the media following his team’s 20-15 loss to the Nebraska football team in the Pinstripe Bowl on Saturday and among the things that. O’Brien opened up about was how much he liked the way that the Huskers’ quarterback played the game.
O’Brien added that he’s known true freshman Dylan Raiola for quite a while. And yet, he was still quite impressed by what he saw from the young gunslinger.
“Yeah, I’ve known Dylan for a long time,” O’Brien said about the Nebraska football quarterback. “Dylan came to the Alabama camp when I coached there. I’ve got a lot of respect for Dylan. He plays the game very calmly. The game comes pretty easy to him. He’s been around football his whole life. His dad was a great player.”

The Eagles’ coach continued talking about what he likes from what he saw from the true freshman.
“He does a good job of managing the game. He’s got a great future in football. Getting to watch him on film, getting ready for the game, seeing a lot of great things from him. Talked to him right there at the end. Got a lot of respect for Dillon. He did a really good job today. Give him a lot of credit.”
Raiola set the Nebraska football record for passing yards for a true freshman quarterback on Saturday as the Huskers also posted a winning record for the first time since 2016. Raiola finished the Pinstripe bowl with 228 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT. He completed the 2024 season with 2,823 yards, 13 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
