The Nebraska Cornhuskers basketball program has started the year with four wins in four games and that’s important for both men’s and women’s teams.

The Nebraska Women’s Basketball team played its second game of the year on Friday night and for the second time this season, the Huskers got a big win.

Amy Williams’ squad beat Wyoming on Friday by a score of 71-52 in a way that once again showed off the Nebraska is going to be winning this year tanks to contributions from numerous players.

Alexis Markowski led the Huskers with 17 points but four of the five NU starters scored in double digits. Jaz Shelley and Natalie Potts both scored 15 points as well and Darian White scored 11.

The win on Friday means that the Nebraska Cornhuskers basketball program is now 4-0 on the season as both the men’s and women’s teams have won their first two games and none of the contests have been all that competitive.

There’s obviously a long way to go this season but it’s a nice start for both squads who aren’t always well known for fast starts to the season.

They are now waiting to find out who will be their next opponent. They’ll go up against Saturday’s winner between Tennessee and fourth-seeded Xavier.
