Now that Daniel Kaelin is officially in the fold, the quarterback is already working on recruiting some teammates for a future Nebraska football squad.

The Nebraska football team has its class of 2024 quarterback. Now that quarterback is working hard to get a big commitment from the state’s top prospect. Could Daniel Kaelin be the secret weapon that finally clinches the commitment of Carter Nelson? It certainly couldn’t hurt.

Nelson and Kaelin paid a visit to the Nebraska football program this weekend and it certainly seems as though the two in-state prospects bonded. Perhaps they bonded over the fact that they’re the top prospects in the state at their prospective positions.

Kaelin, the top quarterback in Nebraska football’s 2024 class hinted at that bond being formed when he tweeted out on Saturday that he’d beaten Nelson in a couple of games of ping pong. While it was likely little light-hearted prodding of the Ainsworth player, it got the attention of plenty of people on social media.

Nebraska football commit peer recruiting Carter Nelson

That tweet might have been lighthearted and only semiserious, but its clear the Bellevue West product knows how important it really is for the Huskers to haul in Carter Nelson. He talked to HuskerOnline about their tandem visit and made it clear he wants to try and get the state’s top prospect to commit to being his teammate.

"“That’s obviously the top-ranked guy in the state. We want to keep him home for sure.”"

It’s a small thing, but it’s also plenty nice to see Kaelin talking about what “we” want in regards to the program. That doesn’t sound like someone who is going to decommit in the future. Now that he’s decided against Missouri and in favor of Nebraska it appears he’s locked down.

Now it’s all about locking down Carter and sending Nebraska football’s 2024 class into the stratosphere.
