The Nebraska Cornhuskers football team is going to be hosting one of the best players and one of Matt Rhule’s top targets for the second straight weekend. Last weekend, it was Dylan Raiola who took a bit of an impromptu trip to Lincoln.

This weekend, Carter Nelson is set to take a visit to see the Nebraska football team. In fact, he’s already been in town with his family to see what Rhule and his team have to offer.

This weekend he’ll be taking in the end of winter conditioning. It would seem this will be a way to show how the Huskers are doing things the right way. Are doing things in a way that will set them apart from other teams around the country.

Carter Nelson has had basically every top team in the nation come calling. This will likely be the biggest and best chance to land Carter Nelson. Even if the Nebraska Cornhuskers don’t totally close the deal in the next few days.

Other Nebraska Cornhuskers news

  • It was not a good Thursday for the Nebraska Cornhuskers women’s basketball team. Amy Williams’ team was still on the bubble for the NCAA Tournament by most accounts. But their 67-64 loss to Michigan State was likely the death stroke to their postseason hopes. This season is going to go down as surprisingly underwhelming when all is said and done.
  • Meanwhile, even while Hoiberg’s Heroes are still trying to shake off their own loss that likely ended their chance at an NCAA Tournament bid, there are some who are finding the positives in this season. That includes Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo who sang the praises of Jamarques Lawrence after the young player scored a career high 15 points against Sparty. “The Lawrence kid is going to be a helluva player. Boy, we couldn’t guard him either,” Izzo said after the game.
