Nebraska Football: Analyst calls Huskers ‘best vacancy in the country’
After rumors worked overtime on Monday that the Nebraska football team was getting its new head coach, the position is still filled only by interim headman, Mickey Joseph. With just over 10 days left in the regular season, the Cornhuskers’ job is still unfilled permanently.
There are a lot of different theories out there as to why the position hasn’t been filled. Some are better than others. There’s the idea that the Nebraska football team is looking to hire someone who still has a job with another school and so they can’t come here yet. The other theory is that no one wants the job because the Huskers’ job simply isn’t that good anymore. However, at least one analyst believes that can’t possibly be the reason.
Robert Griffin III, who coincidentally just called the Huskers’ game against Michigan, saw the team get absolutely throttled by the Wolverines. And still, he believes that the Nebraska football job is one that is not only still sought after but the best job out there right now.
Not long after the Huskers were defeated by Michigan on Saturday, the former NFL quarterback turned television analyst made his opinion known on Twitter.
Certainly, the idea that the Huskers’ job is still a good one is why most fans out there have been dreaming on some big names, including Rhule’s. Some people have even thought the Huskers should be going after a head coach like Urban Meyer.
The question of course, is whether or not other people out there agree with Griffin. There are quite a few openings these days, including Auburn. However, the college football analyst still believes the Cornhuskers are the better job at the moment.
With so little time left in the regular season, it would seem we’ll find out sooner, rather than later whether some of the men the Cornhuskers have targeted in this search agree the Nebraska football team is the best option out there.
