Nebraska basketball freshman Karrington Davis to miss season
The Nebraska basketball team got its first piece of bad news on Monday afternoon as it was announced Karrington Davis is out for the year.
The news surrounding the Nebraska basketball team has largely been positive so far this season. The news on Monday was decidedly not.
Earlier in the day, it was announced that freshman forward Karrington Davis had suffered an Achilles injury. At the time it wasn’t known just how serious that injury was.
By late afternoon, it was bad enough that head coach Tim Miles announced he would be shut down for the season. The good news is that the Huskers were already expecting Davis to be a bit hobbled to start the season.

Because of that, the team wasn’t expecting a ton from the true freshman to start the year. With the regular season still a month away Nebraska will be able to plan for the loss. The basketball team will still be hampered by the loss of a big body.
Having a big man is certainly one thing that Tim Miles has had a problem with since he arrived in Lincoln. Davis was going to be a project but he was also someone who could have been a big asset in the middle.
The Nebrasketball team has figured out how to try and win without a real big man before. They spent a large portion of the second half of last year making due without having a real center.
Davis wasn’t going to be a real center either. It’s still the kind of loss that certainly isn’t good news for the Nebraska basketball team.
