The Nebraska basketball team has offered a power forward who has himself some offers as a pro-style quarterback from Minneapolis.

The Nebraska basketball team has been looking high and low for talent during this busy part of the recruiting cycle. On Tuesday night, Tim Miles turned to power forward David Roddy.

Roddy announced his official offer from the Huskers on his Twitter account. Roddy looks to be a solid power forward, already standing 6-5 and weighing in at 250 pounds.

Playing as a center last season for Breck High, he averaged 25.4 points and 12.9 rebounds per game. It should be noted his high school also lists him as 6-6, so he might be a bit bigger than he’s been listed. Either way that’s not quite tall enough for a center at the college ranks, though the Huskers have been known to go with smaller lineups.

Roddy also looks to be a pretty solid quarterback. Last season he only posted a 56.2 percent completion percentage, but he did throw 22 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He also showed a little bit of ability running, has he had over 130 yards and three touchdowns.

The interesting thing for Roddy is going to be deciding what sport he wants to play in college. On the basketball side, he now has offers from 11 schools including Northwestern and Saint Louis.

The Golden Gophers are also recruiting him, though he hasn’t earned an offer from his hometown team just yet. In Football, he’s got four offers and only one FBS level offer from Wyoming.

Minnesota is also looking at him for their football team but hasn’t offered just yet there either. Common sense says he’s likely going to be choosing basketball when it is all said and done.

There are several decent schools that are wanting him to play for them in that sport. He’s considered a 3-star prospect on the hard court. He hasn’t got a rating in 247Sports composite ranks. The Nebraska basketball team will just hope he chooses to use his size and body to play hoops.
