Certainly, the Nebraska basketball team would have liked to have Jordy Tshimanga back, but the loss doesn’t derail the 2018-19 season. Because we went through this six months ago, the team has already played games as though they didn’t have that 6’11” presence in the middle.

Had James Palmer Jr and Isaac Copeland not returned we’d be singing a different tune, but they are back. When Jordy thought he was leaving before, the team moved Isaiah Roby to the five and Copeland to the four.

For now, it appears the Cornhuskers are going to have to do that again. It should be pointed out they were a better and more athletic team once Miles did that.

The other thing to consider is that Jordy was kind of a defensive sub in the second half of the season. He started the first 18 games of the year but still wasn’t getting a ton of minutes.

Over the entire season, he averaged just 13.6 minutes on the court. That’s hardly irreplaceable.

Sure, the Nebraska basketball team is going to want to find someone who can come in and play the middle late in games, but senior Tanner Borchardt could fill that bill in a pinch.
