Never say Nebraska volleyball coach John Cook isn’t looking towards the future.

The Nebraska volleyball team is working overtime to make sure that it keeps reloading. On Monday morning it received a commit for the 2020 class.

Nicole Drewnick, a setter from Carrollton, Texas announced on her social media channels on Monday that she had officially committed to the Cornhuskers. Alongside some pictures of her hanging out with head coach John Cook on Instagram was the caption, “there is s[no]w place I’d rather play for. so excited and beyond blessed to be able to play for Nebraska! a big thank you to all those who have gotten me to where i am today. it’s the best feeling to have your dreams become a reality!”

The commitment means that the Huskers have quite a bit of talent flowing into the program in the coming years, and the Lone Star state has played a big role in that.

Earlier this spring, the volleyball team picked up a transfer player that was one of the top recruits in the country in her class in Lexi Sun. Sun is originally from California but had played her freshman year for the Texas Longhorns.

According to MaxPreps.com Drewnick is one of the best players in her class and at the top of the best player rankings in the state of Texas. Coming out of Hebron High School, she helped lead her squad to a 41-7 record overall and a perfect 14-0 record in her district.

Over the course of 257 sets played in her career, shes got 117 assists and 511 kills. That’s a nice start for a player who is only going to continue adding on in the 2018 regular season.

The new addition is a definite “rich get richer” storyline for the Nebraska volleyball team. There’s no word yet on whether Scott Frost played a part in this commit though.
