Nebraska Cornhuskers head coach was still seeing quite a bit of strong support from Husker fans even before they opened their home slate with a win.

While Nebraska football fans are waking up Sunday able to celebrate a win in the Matt Rhule regime for the first time, the victory isn’t going to change the minds of many. That’s because while there was plenty of concern about some of the decisions made by the coaching staff, Nebraska Cornhuskers fans still really like Rhule.

While things might have changed had the Huskers lost to Northern Illinois, a poll before Saturday’s game showed support for Rhule was still strong despite an 0-2 start.

In the poll, put out by SI.com, 61 percent of respondents said they are as excited as ever about Matt Rhule. As far as the number of fans who are concerned about the start to the season, 27 percent said they were slightly worried.

Only 12 percent said they were fully concerned. And there were very small amounts of fans who think that Rhule is actually in trouble.

Things could certainly change among Nebraska Cornhuskers fans should things go south, but at the moment, Matt Rhule still very much has fans on his side.
