Nebraska basketball Bubble Watch: Huskers tourney chances hinge on losses
The Nebraska basketball team has not clinched a tourney spot just yet, but at least one expert believes the team gets in if it only loses one more game.
For the first time in years, the Nebraska basketball team is involved in a bubble watch. Sitting in fourth place in the conference, the Huskers are looking at making the tournament.
While their record seems to have them in a good spot, they still have some work to do. On Twitter Friday, ESPN’s stat gurus laid out what they thought the Huskers needed to do in order to make the tourney.
To no one’s surprise, ESPN thinks that if the Cornhuskers win out in the regular season, they will head to the Big Dance. That means no conference tournament wins are required.
So just how many losses can the Huskers suffer in the regular season and still make it to the NCAA Tournament? ESPN believes there is likely room for one more loss in the regular season.

That’s both good and bad news. The good news is that the Cornhuskers will likely be favored to win the rest of their games.
The bad news is there isn’t much room for error. Nebraska comes into their Saturday afternoon game as a 10-point favorite over Rutgers.
Imagine if they suffer a bit of a let down and lose to the Scarlet Knights. While the schedule is favorable none of the games on the schedule are automatic wins.
The Huskers need to keep taking care of business. At the same time, knowing that they are allowed one loss and still get in the dance shows the Nebraska basketball team is impressing the national media.
