Northwestern vs Iowa (-13.5)

The Northwestern Wildcats thought they might be on the cusp of a special season. Then the season actually started and the offense couldn’t score any more points.

Four weeks into the regular season, Northwestern is just 1-3 and 0-1 in the Big Ten following a conference opening loss to Nebraska. Iowa was looking to follow up on it’s very special 2015 season.

More from Big Ten News

That season isn’t going to be nearly as special, considering the Hawkeyes lost to South Dakota State. Unlike Northwestern, Iowa does still have a claim on the Big Ten West in sight, as it won it’s first game of the Big Ten season.

Still, that win wasn’t all that impressive they only beat Rutgers 14-7 and needed a late touchdown in order to get that victory. Both teams’ offenses are struggling something fierce. Northwestern showed a bit of life last week, but it went all for naught.

Iowa thrives in games like this because they just sit back and wait for the opponent to make more mistakes. Other than SDSU, that approach has served them well in the last two years. It will serve the squad well on Saturday as well.

Iowa wins 27-10.
