Big Ten Power Rankings Heading Into Week 4
5. Wisconsin (3-0, 0-0)
Why is a team that has a win over a top 5 team so low in the Big Ten power rankings? Thanks in large part to the fact this Wisconsin team looks an awful lot like the other teams just below it offensively.

Yes, the Badgers’ defense carried the day against the LSU Tigers, but the Badgers offense has looked rather pedestrian in all three of its games. The team’s other two games have been against lower tier teams and they’ve still struggled to put up eye popping numbers.
Wisconsin almost joined Iowa on Saturday as another Big Ten team that suffered an embarrassing loss. Georgia State gave Wisky all it could handled and the Badgers managed to gut out a 23-17 victory.
Georgia State actually led in this game, as last as the fourth quarter. The Sun Belt squad managed to go ahead 17-13 thanks in large part to a 60-yard completion from Conner Manning to Glenn Smith. For the game, Manning was quite efficient, completing 20 of 29 passes for 269 yards.
Wisconsin is going to be a solid team, but I don’t think they get to be overvalued all season because the Badgers pulled off an upset victory over an LSU team that seems to allow one big underdog to topple them every season.
To make matters worse, Wisconsin has likely the toughest conference schedule in the West. Wisconsin’s next three games are against Michigan State, Michigan, and Ohio State. All three teams currently ranked in the AP Top 10. The Badgers then get to play Iowa (ranked 13th before losing to NDSU) and Nebraska. That is an absolutely killer five game stretch.
