For Nebraska baseball fans, it’s always been frustrating that the Huskers are not who has been to the College World Series the most or at least among the teams that have been there the most. If the Cornhuskers could have been that team, or among those teams, it would mean they’d have a great home field advantage.
Unfortunately, neither they nor the Creighton Bluejays, who are very far away from who has been to the College World Series the most with just one appearance in school history; and they’re both a long, long ways away from having that top spot in the College World Series annals of history.
Who has been to the College World Series the most?
The team that has been to the CWS the most is a team that the Nebraska baseball program is quite familiar with. It’s none other than the Texas Longhorns, who have long been one of the most stories programs in the sport.
The Longhorns have been to the event a whopping 38 times. While that’s impressive, the fact that they’ve only won the whole thing six times almost goes down on a bad Return on Investment.
The former Big 12 and now SEC school may be poised to add to that total as they are 23-3 this season. Meanwhile, the team that has won the most titles is a new Big Ten opponent of Nebraska.
The USC Trojans have 12 titles in 21 appearances. A much better ROI. And of course, while Nebraska isn’t among those who has been to the College World Series the most, they have been there three times, which isn’t anything to sneeze at.
