Never let it be said that former Nebraska football defensive line coach Terrance “Pork Chop” Knighton doesn’t still have a lot of love for the charges he left behind when he went to Florida State. Granted, considering that Ty Robinson is leaving Lincoln as well and heading off to the NFL, it’s not really like Knighton left the big defensive lineman behind.
Still, the bond between the former defensive coach and one of the best he coached with the Cornhuskers was obvious, shortly after Robinson was taken in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Terrance Knighton shows Nebraska pride after Ty Robinson’s NFL Draft call
Robinson was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles shortly after Saturday’s session started and not long after that Knighton took to X to make it clear he was more than a little happy for the defender.

Knighton tweeted out what looked like a screenshot of a FaceTime between he and Ty Robinson showing both men smiling broadly. The now-Seminoles coach added the caption, “this what’s it’s about! Love bro. Eagles got a dog!!! DeathRow.”
Robinson and Knighton shared what was a resurgent season for Nebraska, and both men helped the Huskers return to a bowl game since the 2016 season and secure their first bowl win since 2015.
After the regular season ended and before the Cornhuskers played in the Pinstripe Bowl, Knighton joined former defensive coordinator Tony White in making the jump to Florida State. That move was a bit surprising for a number of reasons, including the fact that it would appear they’re hitching their wagon to a head coach in Mike Norvell, who is on the hottest of hot seats.
Despite now being in Tallahassee, Knighton has demonstrated more than a few times that he’s still got his eye on what’s going on in Lincoln. That’s understandable considering how hard he worked over the last two years to try and get Nebraska football back on solid footing.
